MBMC has been felicitated with the prestigious Silver SKOCH Award 2025 for its innovative QR-based digital waste management system. The award, recognised as one of India’s top honours for governance and public administration, was presented at a grand ceremony in New Delhi.
MBMC Commissioner and Administrator Radhabinod A. Sharma (IAS), Additional Commissioner Dr Sachin Bangar, and City Engineer Deepak Khambit accepted the award.
In alignment with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, MBMC developed a QR-based system to enhance efficiency, transparency, and planning in waste collection and segregation. This initiative has significantly improved waste management, reduced citizen complaints, and contributed to a cleaner city.
The SKOCH Group acknowledged this pioneering effort for its effective use of technology in public service.
MBMC Commissioner Sharma expressed pride in the achievement saying, “This award is a testament to the dedicated efforts of MBMC officers and staff. We remain committed to innovative initiatives that will establish MBMC as one of India’s cleanest cities.”
MBMC has dedicated this recognition to the city’s residents and aims to further strengthen waste management and eco-friendly initiatives.
