Residents in Sector 13, Kharghar, are expressing growing concerns following a spate of thefts involving metal fencing from sidewalks and gardens across various sectors in the locality. This ongoing theft of metal grills has left many footpaths and public areas in the vicinity with sections of fencing missing, sparking worries among the residents.

Radhika Pillai, a concerned resident of Sector 13, Kharghar, highlighted the prevailing issue, stating, "Instances of this theft have been noticed at Shilp Chowk, where a portion of the metal fence is missing near the garden and sidewalk. Previously, the entire section was stolen from the small temple area at the Sector 13 corner. Prior to that, missing sections of metal grills were observed along the walls of Central Park. Even in Sector 7, CIDCO garden, sections of the metal fence have fallen victim to scrap metal thieves”.

Adding to the concern, Varun Advani, another resident, emphasized, "The escalating theft of metal fencing has become alarming, as miscreants are pilfering metal and selling it for scrap. These incidents often occur overnight. At the Sector 11 garden, adjacent to Shiv Mandir, multiple sections of metal fencing have been removed”.

Residents are calling for tight vigilance and increased police patrolling to deter and halt such incidents from recurring.
