Citizens invited to participate in cleanliness drive

Mira-Bhayander: In an effort to promote cleanliness and hygiene, the Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC) is set to launch a significant initiative as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 2.0 campaign. Under the guidance of Commissioner Sanjay Katkar, a Plog Run 2024 is scheduled for October 1, 2024, at 8 AM. This event aims to raise awareness about cleanliness and encourage community participation.

The Plog Run will commence from six designated locations: Nagar Bhawan, Hanuman Mandir, Commissioner’s Bungalow, Shaheed Major Kaustubh Rane Miraroad, SK Stone, and will culminate at Golden Nest. Participants will not only engage in the run but also contribute to a deep clean drive, which involves cleaning religious places, public toilets, and market areas along the route.

The campaign, themed Swabhav Swachhata Sanskaar Swachhata, is part of a fortnight-long initiative running from September 17 to October 2. Commissioner Katkar has urged citizens, charitable organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), local social groups, political leaders, and journalists to join the Plog Run in large numbers.

“The success of this campaign relies on community involvement. Together, we can create a cleaner and healthier environment for all residents of Mira-Bhayander,” stated Commissioner Katkar.
