MLA Manda Mhatre leads development tour in Belapur village

With an aim to fast track the development of Belapur village MLA Manda Mhatre along with Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) officials, conducted an inspection tour. The tour aligns with the broader development efforts in Navi Mumbai, including the Diwale Smart Village project.

Accompanying MLA Manda Mhatre on the tour were Leader of Opposition Pandharinath Patil, City Engineer Shirish Aardwad, Executive Engineer Ajay Patil, Junior Engineer Rajesh Patil, Ward Officer Belapur Shashikant Tandel, and other concerned officers and citizens.

MLA Manda Mhatre highlighted that local residents have long demanded the development of Belapur village. The Maharashtra government has allocated a fund of Rs.20 crores for the construction of a sports complex and other social development works in the area. The upcoming five-story multi-purpose building will feature facilities such as multi-level car parking, a vegetable market, gym, a library, a badminton court, and a recreation centre for senior citizens.

During the inspection, MLA Mhatre emphasized the need to secure a plot for Lord Ram temple and to enhance the area's beautification. She assured that Belapur village is on the path to becoming a smart village, with various facilities planned to improve the quality of life for residents.

Despite heavy rain, the villagers actively participated in the inspection tour. MLA Mhatre also instructed the NMMC officials to prioritize the maintenance of drains and sewers across Navi Mumbai's 29 villages to prevent overflow during the rainy season.
