Kalyan: MLA Vishwanath Bhoir of Kalyan West has strongly advocated for the establishment of an Agri Koli Economic Development Corporation during the ongoing state budget session. His proposal aims to address the challenges faced by the Agri Koli community residing in Thane, Raigad district, and Mumbai, where many have lost their lands to government acquisitions over the years.

Speaking passionately on the floor, MLA Vishwanath Bhoir emphasized that the loss of agricultural lands has severely impacted the community's livelihood opportunities. He highlighted the urgent need to establish a dedicated Economic Development Corporation, similar to those for other social groups, to empower and uplift the Agri Koli community.

The proposal aims to tackle issues such as unemployment among educated youth, lack of sustainable livelihoods, barriers to higher education for students, and support for women's self-help groups. Bhoir underscored the importance of partnership initiatives with professional bodies in sectors like engineering and agriculture to enhance economic prospects within the community.
