Traffic advisory issued for February 16th

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is set to organize a marathon on the Sewri-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu (MTHL) on Sunday, February 16th. In light of this event, the Atal Setu will remain closed to all vehicular traffic from 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15th, until 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16th.

The Navi Mumbai Police’s Traffic Department has issued a notification outlining the temporary closure of the Atal Setu to ensure the smooth conduct of the marathon, which will take place from 4:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.

All vehicles, except for essential services and marathon participants, will be restricted from entering the sea link during this period.

Motorists are advised to take alternative routes to avoid delays. Vehicles traveling to Atal Setu from Uran via Gavhan Phata, Uran Phata, and Vashi are advised to follow different routes. Similarly, vehicles traveling from Pune to Mumbai are directed to use the Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway, Belapur, and Vashi Road.

Oncoming traffic from the old Mumbai-Pune Highway, Konkan, and Panvel is also advised to reroute through Gavan Phata, Uran Phata, and Vashi.

For light vehicles traveling from JNPT to Mumbai, an alternative route via Gavan Phata, Ulwe Amra, and the Vashi Creek Bridge is recommended.

Essential services such as police, fire brigades, ambulances, and marathon vehicles will be exempt from these restrictions.
