MNS protests NMMC over delay in educational materials at Navi Mumbai School

Members of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), led by City Vice-President Nilesh Bankhele, staged a protest outside Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) headquarters, condemning the administration's failure to provide essential educational materials to students at Secondary School No. 120 in Diva.

The protest was sparked by grievances raised by parents and students regarding the inadequate supply of textbooks, notebooks, and uniforms by the organization "I Teach," which is responsible for managing educational affairs at the school. According to MNS leaders, the delay in distributing these materials has severely affected the academic progress of students, particularly those in the English medium.

“It is unacceptable that despite the academic year progressing, students have not received their basic educational tools. The delay in providing uniforms and books has caused significant setbacks in their studies,” remarked Nilesh Bankhele during the protest.

The MNS alleges that the situation reflects mismanagement and potential corruption within the municipal education system, highlighting discrepancies in uniform distribution and financial transactions related to student accounts.

"We demand immediate action against 'I Teach' and ensure that all students receive their required educational supplies promptly," asserted Bankhele.

The protest escalated into a verbal confrontation between MNS office bearers and municipal officials outside the commissioner's office, underscoring the intensity of the issue.

"We consider this a serious matter affecting the educational rights of underprivileged students. If the administration fails to rectify this situation promptly, MNS will mobilize a widespread movement across Navi Mumbai," warned Bankhele.

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has yet to respond officially to the allegations raised by MNS.
