Vashi: In a remarkable achievement, the Marine Life project presented by students from Modern School, Vashi, has been awarded as the ‘Top Project’ at the Changemakers of Tomorrow Global Event held in Bangalore.

The event, organized by Shell NExplorers, aims to unite the next generation in advancing towards a sustainable future. Representing Maharashtra, ninth-grade students Pranjal Umesh Bhilare and Anushka Panchal showcased their innovative Bio Bloom Investigator project, which addresses the issue of algae blooms that hinder sunlight from reaching the sea floor, thus threatening marine life.

The students' project involved designing a robot capable of detecting and removing algae from the surface of seawater, ensuring that sunlight penetrates deeper into the ocean and supports underwater ecosystems. This breakthrough not only highlights the students' ingenuity but also elevates the reputation of their school and the state.

With over 300,000 students participating from across the country, the Modern School's project stood out, earning high praise from the NX Shark judges. The recognition includes funding for establishing a robotics lab at the school.

The Changemakers of Tomorrow program, inaugurated by Karnataka’s Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Madhu Bangarappa, brought together experts, industry leaders, and innovators to celebrate and support student-led initiatives for a better future.
