Mohini Prashant Lokhande, police inspector attached to the Navi Mumbai traffic police, is a testament to the fact that every woman can achieve success with determination and perseverance.

Mohini spent her childhood in Nevasa, Kukana. She is a post graduate with MSc in Organic Chemistry from Rao Bahadur Narayanrao Borawake College, Shrirampur. Balancing her familial responsibilities with MPSC preparations, and cleared it in 2009. She joined the Maharashtra police as a sub-inspector.

After completing her training at the Maharashtra Police Academy, she was posted to Mumbai’s Marine Drive Police Station in 2010. While attached with the Nashik Police Commissionerate, she played a crucial role in handling security arrangements for the Kumbh Mela held in 2012.

At the sensitive Bhadrakali Police Station, she efficiently handled cases related to crimes against women and children, financial frauds, and law and order during religious processions. She also solved numerous high-profile cases while serving at the Mumbai Naka Police Station. From 2019 to 2021, she worked in the State Intelligence Department. In 2021, while serving in the Crime Branch Unit 5 in Mumbai, she led a major operation that resulted in the seizure of 1,779 kg of red sandalwood worth ₹1.78 crore. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she played a crucial role in cracking down on the black market for Remdesivir medicinal drug which was in demand for treating Covid-19 virus.

From 2021 to 2023, at the Cyber Police Station, she successfully solved numerous cases of cyber fraud, including job scams, stock market frauds, and banking frauds, helping many victims receive justice. In 2024, she was posted at VP Road Police Station, where she worked extensively on cases related to crimes against women, cyber fraud, and passport-related offenses. Her focus was not only on investigating crimes but also on educating women about their safety and legal rights.

Recently, she has been transferred to Navi Mumbai and is now handling the Seawoods Traffic Unit. Since taking charge, she has focused on streamlining traffic management, enforcing discipline among reckless drivers, and launching various public awareness campaigns.
