Urges timely completion

In a crucial meeting reviewing the ongoing infrastructure projects in Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency, aimed at transforming transport and communication networks, was held at the headquarters of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). The meeting, presided over by Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, the Metropolitan Commissioner, focused on the detailed project plans for key projects such as Kalyan Ring Road, Metro Route 14, Metro 5 and Metro 12, and the Thane Freeway, among others.

During the meeting, Kalyan MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde provided clear instructions for the completion of these projects within the scheduled timeline. Emphasizing the importance of overcoming obstacles and streamlining construction efforts, Dr. Shinde urged the concerned officials to ensure the timely execution of these critical initiatives, which are expected to significantly improve the region's infrastructure.

The meeting discussed several key topics, including the challenges related to land acquisition, project completion, and progress updates on various development works in Ulhasnagar, Ambernath, and the Kalyan-Dombivli areas. MP Dr. Shinde instructed the authorities to expedite the land acquisition process, noting its importance for accelerating the progress of these projects.

Officials also discussed the potential of Metro Route 14 (Badlapur-Kanjurmarg) to benefit more residents, with suggestions made to evaluate possible adjustments in the route design for broader coverage. Additionally, the ongoing construction of roads worth Rs. 380 crore in the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation limits was reviewed, with instructions given to speed up the work.

The meeting also touched on key projects within the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation area, such as the Shahad flyover widening on the Kalyan-Ahilyanagar highway. Ulhasnagar Municipal Commissioner Jamir Lengrekar was directed to acquire the necessary land immediately for this project. Furthermore, discussions were held on seven major roads in Ulhasnagar and the Kalyan Phata Flyover and Airoli Katai Freeway projects, with a focus on acquiring land to ensure their swift development.

The meeting was attended by several notable officials, including Additional Commissioner Mudgal, Additional Metropolitan Commissioner Manuj Jindal, Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Commissioner Indu Rani Jakhar, Ulhasnagar Municipal Commissioner Jamir Lengrekar, and other political and administrative leaders from the region. MP Dr. Shinde reiterated his commitment to driving these essential projects forward, emphasizing that they are crucial for the economic and infrastructural development of Kalyan and surrounding areas.
