A surprise bag check at a private school in Ghoti, Igatpuri taluka of Nashik uncovered knives, brass knuckles, bicycle chains, metal bangles, playing cards, and condoms in the bags of class 8 and 9 students. The inspection was carried out after rising concerns over student behaviour. A video of the seized items, shared online by crime journalist Raj Maji, has gone viral, sparking outrage.
Narcotics were also allegedly found, with some students suspected of being under the influence on campus. While a few observers suggested the weapons may have been carried for self-defence, school authorities have informed the police, who have launched an investigation.
