Navi Mumbai: Sandeep Naik, the BJP district president for Navi Mumbai, has called for the swift implementation of a government decision to regularize constructions for project victims and the needy, alongside granting them ownership rights to the land. In a recent letter to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, both Deputy Chief Ministers, and senior officials including CIDCO Chairman and Urban Development Secretary, Naik emphasized the importance of providing freehold land rights for residential and livelihood purposes.

Reacting to the government's announcement on regularizing constructions for project victims, Naik expressed his appreciation for the decision, stating, "We thank the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister for taking this crucial step to regularize constructions in both original and extended villages." He underscored the necessity of granting actual land ownership rights rather than merely leasing the land.

Naik highlighted the ongoing efforts of MLA Ganesh Naik, who has been actively pursuing this matter with the government through various channels, including the assembly sessions. He noted that the MLA has raised important issues, engaged in discussions, and pushed for solutions to ensure that project victims receive rightful ownership of the land.

During a recent bhumipujan ceremony for Koli Bhawan in Airoli, Chief Minister Shinde reiterated the government's commitment to regularizing constructions with ownership rights for project victims. However, Naik pointed out that the government resolution (GR) issued indicated a leasing model, which he believes should be reconsidered in favour of outright ownership for the project victims.

Naik also addressed the proposed fee structure for regularization, which stipulates that project victims would be charged 15% for areas ranging from 0 to 250 square meters, 25% for 251 to 500 square meters, and 300% for areas above 501 square meters. He urged that a uniform rate of 15% should be applied across the board, regardless of the property size or proximity to the original village, to ensure fairness.

Furthermore, he requested that adequate time be allocated for project victims to pay for the regularization of their constructions, allowing them the opportunity to develop their structures under favourable conditions. Naik's letter emphasizes the need for comprehensive implementation of the government's decision in a timely manner, ensuring that no aspects are overlooked in this critical process.
