Navi Mumbai District Level School Table Tennis tournament sees enthusiastic participation

Navi Mumbai: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation District Level School Table Tennis Tournament, organized by the Department of Sports and Culture in collaboration with the Directorate of Sports and Youth Services, Maharashtra State District Sports Council, Thane, witnessed a vibrant display of talent and enthusiasm. Held at the Agnel Sports Centre in Sector 10, Vashi, the tournament saw participation from 102 teams across various schools and junior colleges.

The competition featured 63 teams in the boys' category and 39 teams in the girls' category, with participants ranging from 14 to 19 years old.

Under14 Boys: Delhi Public School, Nerul triumphed over Poddar Cambridge School, Nerul with a 3:1 victory to advance to the Mumbai regional tournament. DAV Public School, Airoli secured third place by defeating Christ Academy, Koparkhairane, 3:1.

Under17 Boys: Fr. Agnel School, Vashi, won against Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Vivekananda Complex, Sanpada with a 3:0 score line to qualify for the next Mumbai regional tournament. Poddar CBSE School, Nerul finished third after a 3:2 win over New Horizon Public School, Airoli.

Under19 Boys: Fr. Agnel School, Vashi, emerged victorious over Shiravane Junior College, Nerul, with a 3:1 win. D.A.V. Public School, Airoli claimed third place by defeating Reliance Foundation School, Koparkhairane, 3:2.

Under14 Girls: Amity International School, CBD, Belapur defeated A.P.J. School, Nerul, 3:0 to secure their place in the Mumbai regional tournament. Ryan International School, Sanpada finished third with a 3:1 victory over Reliance Foundation School, Koparkhairane.

Under17 Girls: Fr. Agnel School, Vashi, won 3:0 against V.P.M. School, Airoli to advance to the regional tournament. A.P.J. School, Nerul secured third place by defeating Ryan International School, Sanpada, 3:2.

Under19 Girls: Delhi Public School, Nerul, won the final match against A.P.J. School, Nerul, with a 3:1 score to move on to the Mumbai regional competition. Dr. DY Patil International School, Nerul, claimed third place with a 3:2 win over Reliance Foundation School, Koparkhairane.

The increasing participation from schools across Navi Mumbai each year highlights the growing interest and success of the sports department's efforts. Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde congratulated the winning teams from each category and wished them success in the upcoming Mumbai regional tournament.
