Navi Mumbai: In a proactive move to enhance public awareness on crucial safety issues, Navi Mumbai Police has launched a new initiative using social media. A WhatsApp channel named "Navi Mumbai Police" has been established, aimed at educating citizens on topics such as cybercrime, financial fraud, anti-narcotics efforts, and women's safety. The channel will be officially unveiled on August 14 by the Director General of Police of Maharashtra, after which daily awareness content will be shared with subscribers.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy by Navi Mumbai Police to tackle the growing concerns of cybercrime, financial fraud, narcotics, and crimes against women by engaging with the public through social media and digital platforms. Recognizing the widespread use of WhatsApp, the police have chosen this medium to reach a larger audience effectively. The WhatsApp channel was conceptualized under the guidance of Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe.

The content shared on this channel will include awareness videos, memes, and digital posters created by prominent figures from various fields, including actors and actresses from the Hindi and Marathi film industries. These will focus on topics like cyber security, financial fraud, anti-narcotics initiatives, and women's safety. In addition to WhatsApp, the same content will be posted on the official Facebook and Instagram pages of Navi Mumbai Police.

Navi Mumbai Police has urged citizens to follow their WhatsApp channel, as well as their Facebook and Instagram pages, to stay informed and help spread awareness on these critical issues.
