As the city gears up to celebrate Christmas and New Year, the Navi Mumbai Police are intensifying efforts to monitor and prevent rave parties and drug smuggling. These events often involve the consumption of illegal substances and alcohol, posing a threat to law and order.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Amit Kale stated that a dedicated front has been formed to curb drug trafficking and ensure safety during the festive season. Informant networks have been activated to gather intelligence on drug suppliers targeting party venues.

Police are keeping a close watch on potential hotspots, including hotels, farmhouses, forested areas, and coastal zones in Navi Mumbai and Panvel. Special operations have already resulted in the seizure of drugs like cocaine, MD, and LSD, with recent arrests of 16 individuals, including foreign nationals, and the confiscation of drugs worth ₹12 crore.
