Navi Mumbai Police prepares for peaceful Ganeshotsav celebration

Navi Mumbai: Navi Mumbai Police is gearing up to ensure a smooth and joyful Ganeshotsav-2024, with extensive preparations to maintain peace and order throughout the festivities. Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe has urged Ganesha devotees to adhere to regulations and celebrate the festival peacefully.

To facilitate the celebrations between September 7 and 17, the Navi Mumbai Police have made comprehensive arrangements. This year, 886 public and 92,601 private Ganesh idols will be installed across the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate area.

Key Arrangements Include:

1. Immersion Ghats: Sixteen immersion ghats have been set up, including locations in Vashi, Koparkhairane, Turbhe, and Kalamboli, among others.

 2. Surveillance: CCTV cameras will be installed at all immersion sites to monitor activities and ensure security. Special cameras will also track the immersion processions.

3. Police Deployment: A robust police force has been mobilized, including 850 officers in Circle-1 and 746 in Circle-2. The deployment will feature 6 Deputy Commissioners, 10 Assistant Commissioners, 67 Police Inspectors, and over 3,000 additional personnel. Specialized units, including bomb detection squads and striking forces, will be on standby.

4. Noise Pollution Control: Anti-noise pollution squads will monitor sound levels at public events to ensure compliance with legal limits. Officers have been trained to manage sound measurement devices and enforce noise regulations.

5. Public Awareness: The police will conduct awareness campaigns on women's safety and cyber-crime at Ganeshotsav venues. Meetings with Ganesh Mandal organizers and Dolby owners have been held to discuss noise control and peaceful celebration.

Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Yenpure has emphasized the importance of community cooperation. Devotees are encouraged to report any suspicious activities and celebrate Ganeshotsav while following the guidelines set forth by the police.
