Appeals for safe celebrations

The Navi Mumbai Police have implemented comprehensive security measures across the city to ensure a safe and incident-free celebration on New Year’s Eve. Citizens are urged to celebrate the arrival of 2025 enthusiastically but responsibly, adhering to all rules and regulations.

To prevent untoward incidents, 2,500 police personnel, including 3 Deputy Commissioners of Police, 6 Assistant Commissioners of Police, and more than 1,700 police officers and employees, have been deployed. The traffic department has also been mobilized to regulate movement and prevent congestion.

Key Security Arrangements:

  • Special Monitoring: New Year’s parties in hotels, bars, restaurants, farmhouses, bungalows, and beaches will be under close scrutiny.
  • Anti-Drug Measures: Strict legal action will be taken against individuals involved in drug consumption or illegal liquor use.
  • Patrolling and Checkpoints: Checkpoints and patrols have been set up at city entrances, main squares, and secluded areas, monitored by senior officers.
  • Maritime Security: Additional security has been arranged for coastal areas.
  • Traffic Control: Traffic police will implement a strict drive against drunk driving, with medical tests conducted on suspected offenders.

Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe has urged residents to remain vigilant and avoid actions that could disrupt public safety. Strict action will be taken against drunk driving, public disorder, harassment of women, unauthorized alcohol sales, and drug-related offenses.

Citizens are requested to report any suspicious activities, persons, or abandoned objects immediately to the police helpline at 112.

"While the police have deployed extensive resources to maintain order, citizens are reminded to celebrate responsibly, ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone," Commissioner Bharambe emphasized.
