In light of the upcoming assembly election results, the Navi Mumbai Police has implemented stringent security measures to prevent any potential disturbances. Prohibitory orders under CrPC Section 149 have been issued to select political party office-bearers, and restrictions have been enforced within 100 meters of the vote-counting centers in Airoli, Belapur, Panvel, and Uran.
The elections, held on November 20, were largely peaceful, with only minor incidents reported. However, the police anticipate possible clashes between supporters of winning and losing candidates once results are announced on Saturday. To address this, security has been intensified citywide, with enhanced patrolling on major roads and around key locations.
All four vote-counting centres—Saraswati Vidyalaya in Airoli, Agri Koli Bhavan in Nerul, Anjuman Islam Kalsekar Polytechnic College in Panvel, and Zilla Parishad School in Jasai—have been secured with strict monitoring. Traffic and parking restrictions are in place near these locations, except for vehicles involved in election duties and emergency services.
