After nearly 20 years of waiting, the long-pending demand for a roof over Platform No. 5 at Dombivli Railway Station has finally been fulfilled. This long-awaited development comes after relentless efforts and follow-ups by Shiv Sena (UBT faction) District Chief Dipesh Mhatre.

A few months ago, the party submitted a written statement to the railway administration, highlighting various issues faced by senior citizens, women, and passengers at the station.

Among the key demands was the urgent need for a complete roof over Platform No. 5, which had been missing for over two decades. The party also issued a strong warning, stating that if the issues were not addressed, they would stage a Shiv Sena-style protest.

Following continuous follow-ups, senior railway officials took immediate notice of the demand, and construction work for the roof on Platform No. 5 has finally begun. A significant portion of the shed installation has already been completed.

To commemorate this achievement, an inaugural event was held in the presence of City Chief Prakash Telgote, Deputy City Chief Suraj Pawar, Shahar Sanghatak Sanjay Patil, Deputy Shahar Sanghatak Suresh Pardeshi, Shahar Sanghatak Priyanka Vichare, Department Head Rajendra Sawant, Praveen Virkut, Yuva Sena Assembly Officer Aditya Patil, Swapnali Shendge, Shakha Sanghatak Organiser Richa Kamtekar, Yuva Sena Shahar Sanghatak Shubhangi Ghorpade, and several citizens.

Residents have warmly welcomed this development, expressing their gratitude to Dipesh Mhatre and the Shiv Sena (UBT) for their efforts in improving passenger facilities. “We assure commuters that we will continue to fight for the rights of the common people and work towards providing essential amenities,” said Telgote.
