In a dedicated effort to uphold cleanliness standards and enhance the city's rating, a special deep cleaning drive was conducted in the vicinity of Vashi Railway Station. This initiative, part of the 'Safai Apnao, Bimari Bhagao' campaign under Swachh Bharat Mission, saw active participation from students, citizens, and municipal authorities alike.

Led by Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde's directive to regularize cleanliness initiatives, the drive aimed to ensure cleanliness in high-footfall areas like railway stations. Despite CIDCO's responsibility for station cleanliness, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has taken proactive steps to maintain cleanliness standards in such crucial public spaces.

Additional Commissioner Sunil Pawar, along with Dr. Ajay Gadade, Deputy Commissioner of Solid Waste Management, and officials from Vashi Division including Sagar More and Suryakant Mhatre, spearheaded the effort. They were joined by NMMC's Swachata Mitra team, CIDCO officials, and enthusiastic participants from NCC and NSS of Tilak College and Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College, alongside dedicated citizens.

Ninety-five individuals engaged in the deep cleaning campaign, focusing on garbage sorting, plastic ban, and overall environmental hygiene. The event concluded with a collective oath to continue supporting initiatives like Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan for a cleaner environment.
