Navi Mumbai: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) headquarters was the epicenter of a lively and vibrant celebration marking India's 78th Independence Day. The event featured a flag-hoisting ceremony led by NMMC Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde, and was graced by Additional Commissioners Sunil Pawar and Shirish Aradwad, Deputy Commissioner Sharad Pawar, along with numerous department heads, officials, staff, public representatives, and local citizens.

The celebration was further enhanced by the presence of police, fire brigade personnel, and security guards from the Maharashtra Security Force.

The NMMC headquarters was beautifully adorned with intricate rangoli designs and was illuminated with dazzling tricolour lights starting from August 13. As part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, a tricolour selfie point was set up, inviting visitors to capture memorable photographs and sign a tricolour canvas, demonstrating their support for the initiative.

The eye-catching illumination of the headquarters attracted large crowds of residents who visited with family and friends to take pictures against the backdrop of the beautifully lit building. This spectacular display will remain visible until August 16. In addition, a 225-foot tall symbolic national flag, which had not been displayed during the monsoon season, was hoisted in front of the headquarters.
