In a move to enhance the city's cultural appeal, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has initiated the tender process for the installation of an impressive statue of Lord Gautama Buddha at the Jewel of Navi Mumbai, located in Nerul. The statue, symbolizing world peace, is set to become a key attraction in the area.
The proposal for the statue was put forward by MLA Manda Mhatre, with the aim of making the Jewel of Navi Mumbai an even more significant destination. The project, estimated to cost approximately Rs. 67 lakhs, marks a major step in promoting cultural and spiritual landmarks within the city.
Currently, Navi Mumbai does not have a prominent statue of Gautama Buddha, making this installation a significant addition. The statue is expected to enhance the peaceful ambiance of the park and attract more visitors, both locals and tourists, fostering a deeper sense of reverence for Buddha's teachings.
