In an effort to combat vector-borne diseases such as dengue and malaria, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), under the leadership of Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde, has initiated a series of special awareness camps.

These camps aim to educate the public about the prevention and control of these diseases, particularly during the monsoon season when mosquito-borne illnesses are most prevalent.

As part of this ongoing campaign, NMMC’s Health Department has already organised several public awareness camps at various locations across the 26 Civil Primary Health Centre (CPHC) zones.

Additionally, special camps were set up during the Ganeshotsav and Navratri festival periods at public celebration venues, reaching out to citizens in a variety of settings. In total, 330 camps were held, attracting 156,011 participants. Blood samples were collected from 10,835 individuals, and all results returned negative for dengue and malaria.
