Prioritises cleanliness and efficiency under CM’s 100-day plan

In a determined effort to enhance governance efficiency and improve service delivery, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is swiftly implementing the 100-day action plan conceptualised by Hon’ble Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The initiative aims to ensure that government services provided to citizens are of high quality, efficient, and timely.

Under the guidance of NMMC Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde, all departments have been directed to accelerate the execution of this initiative. As part of the action plan, officers and employees have been reporting to work even on public holidays to facilitate the cleaning of offices, sorting and organising records, and ensuring compliance with government-prescribed administrative procedures.

To bring greater systematic efficiency and transparency in governance, NMMC has prioritised several key activities across its departments, including disposal of obsolete and redundant materials in accordance with official protocols. Deep cleaning of offices and premises to maintain hygiene and order. Classification and declassification of records and documents as per regulatory standards. Systematic sorting of files into A, B, C, and D categories for better record management. Destruction of outdated 'D-category' documents that have surpassed their retention period. Proper archiving of classified records in the official repository.

This rigorous approach aims to ensure that administrative functions remain well-organised, reducing inefficiencies and streamlining service delivery for the citizens of Navi Mumbai.

To reinforce best practices in office management and record preservation, NMMC recently conducted a special training workshop for its officials and staff.

The session was held under the initiative of Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde and was led by Satyajit Bade, Additional Chief Executive Officer of Raigad Zilla Parishad. The workshop provided guidance on effective documentation procedures, compliance with government regulations, and structured administrative planning.

As NMMC continues to drive the effective implementation of the Chief Minister’s 100-day action plan, inspections will soon be conducted to assess the execution and impact of these measures across various departments.
