In an effort to boost voter participation in the upcoming assembly elections, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s (NMMC) Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde has directed a comprehensive voter awareness campaign. Special emphasis is being placed on ensuring that every eligible voter in Navi Mumbai exercises their right to vote.

The initiative, spearheaded by Additional Commissioner Mr. Sunil Pawar, focuses on engaging voters through various media and activities across all eight divisional offices of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation. The campaign is particularly active in the Airoli and Belapur assembly constituencies, where sweep groups are actively promoting voter education.

To instill the importance of voting in the minds of future voters, several activities are being organized at the school level. Students are encouraged to convey the message of voting to their parents and families, fostering a culture of electoral participation.

Recently, a rangoli competition was held at SIES College in Nerul, where participants creatively depicted voting messages through their art. Similarly, at NMMC School No. 104 in Airoli, vibrant Rangoli designs were used to raise public awareness about the significance of voting.

At NMMC School No. 30 in Koparigaon, an innovative activity invited students to write letters to their parents about exercising their voting rights. This not only promoted the practice of letter writing among students but also aimed to encourage their families to participate in the electoral process. Additionally, students organized a voter awareness rally in the Koparigaon area, using slogans and placards to inform citizens about the importance of voting.

In another initiative, students from NMMC School No. 31 and 114 in Koparkhairane Sector 7 enthusiastically participated in a painting competition themed 'Importance of Voting in Democracy,' expressing their feelings of conscious citizenship through their artwork.

The campaign also included direct appeals to citizens in key locations, such as Karegaon Lake area, Vashi Bus Depot, Vashi Railway Station, Western College Sector 16 Sanpada, and Sector 23 Turbhe Janata Market. Here, citizens gathered to take an oath to vote, filled out resolution forms, and learned about the importance of voting.
