Yields positive results
Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has launched a comprehensive Deep Cleaning Drive across all eight divisions of the city, focusing on both cleanliness and improving air quality.
The initiative, which started on December 30, aims to thoroughly clean major roads, footpaths, and dividers in areas with heavy vehicular traffic. By removing accumulated dirt and waste from these areas, the campaign seeks to reduce air pollution and improve the overall environment in the city.
Under the leadership of NMMC Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde, the Deep Cleaning Drive has been implemented effectively, yielding positive results already.
The campaign has been meticulously planned, with a schedule prepared for each day to specify which roads and areas will undergo cleaning.
As part of this plan, the drives are being carried out even on public holidays, ensuring that cleanliness is maintained consistently across the city.
The efforts are overseen by Additional Commissioner Mr. Sunil Pawar and Deputy Commissioners Dr. Ajay Gadade (Circle 1) and Mr. Santosh Warule (Circle 2) from the Solid Waste Management Department. They are supported by Deputy Commissioners Mr. Somnath Potre (Circle 1) and Dr. Kailas Gaikwad (Circle 2), along with the six assistant commissioners and departmental officers.
