Tender process for Science learning apparatus to begin by month-end

Navi Mumbai: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s (NMMC) ambitious Science Park project, located on a 5-acre plot within the 22-acre Wonders Park at Nerul (East), is expected to be completed within the next seven months, according to municipal officials. The project has achieved 80 percent completion in civil work, with roofing currently underway.

Speaking to Newsband, Shirish Aradwad, City Engineer, NMMC, stated, "About 80 percent of the civil work has been completed, and within 10 days we will float the tender for science learning apparatus." He added, "If everything goes as per plan, the project should be ready within seven months."

A Senior Associate Architect from Hiten Sethi & Associates provided insights into the project's vision and features. "Science Park is envisioned as an iconic structure within the widely acclaimed Wonders Park. Drawing inspiration from the potential of science and technology to shape our future, the project aims to create a captivating and sustainable venue that encourages exploration of scientific experimentation and critical thinking," the senior architect explained.

The iconic architectural project spans 2 lakh sq. ft. and is based on the theme "How science impacts life." It will include separate zones dedicated to various scientific fields such as environment, robotics and machines, energy, and space science within its two ellipsoid structures.

The structure will feature a podium plus three levels. The podium will house a reception area, administration block, and parking for over 100 vehicles. Additionally, the convention centre will include a cafeteria, multipurpose hall, and meeting rooms.

In line with green building principles, the project is being developed with a focus on sustainability and environmental friendliness.
