Navi Mumbai: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Transport (NMMT) has introduced an air-conditioned superfast bus service from the Mumbai Trans Harbor Link (MTHL), also known as Atal Setu, starting from Thursday, 12th September. This new service, aimed at providing seamless connectivity for Navi Mumbaikars to Mumbai, will operate two bus routes, numbered 116 and 117.

Bus number 116 will run from Nerul Bus Station (East) to Mantralaya via Ulwe and Shivajinagar Toll Gate, while bus number 117 will operate from Kharghar Sector-35 to Mantralaya via Panvel, Palaspe, and Gavan toll plaza. This new service offers Navi Mumbai residents the opportunity to travel across Atal Setu, India's longest sea bridge, providing a much-needed transport option for daily commuters.

The air-conditioned buses will operate from Monday to Saturday, with a travel time of approximately 95 to 100 minutes. The ticket fare for this service has been set at Rs 230. Currently, four electric air-conditioned bus trips are scheduled, with two in the morning and two in the evening.

The timetable for bus number 116 departing from Nerul Bus Station is as follows: the bus will leave at 7:55 am for Mantralaya and return from Mantralaya to Kharkopar Railway Station at 9:45 am. In the evening, the bus will depart from Kharkopar Railway Station at 5:20 pm and leave Mantralaya for Nerul at 6:25 pm.

Bus number 117 will depart from Kharghar Sector-35 at 7:40 am for Mantralaya and will return to Kharghar Sector-35 in the evening. The return journey from Mantralaya is scheduled for 6:15 pm.

This new NMMT service has been welcomed by citizens, as it allows them to experience traveling across the Atal Setu bridge, which was previously only accessible to those with four-wheeler vehicles. The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has urged citizens to make full use of this new facility.
