In a grand display of creativity and scientific curiosity, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) Education Department recently organised a highly successful science exhibition at schools in the Diva-Airoli region. Held under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Dr Kailas Shinde, the exhibition was designed to foster scientific thinking, innovation, and holistic development among students, alongside their academic education.

The event, which took place at NMMC Schools No. 48, 91, and 120, saw enthusiastic participation from students and teachers. With a focus on showcasing scientific experiments and projects, the exhibition provided a platform for students to express their creativity and demonstrate their understanding of various scientific concepts.

The exhibition was officially inaugurated in a vibrant ceremony by Mrs Sangharatna Khillare, Deputy Commissioner of the NMMC Education Department, who was joined by Education Officer Mrs Aruna Yadav and other distinguished officials. The occasion was also graced by the presence of NMMC Extension Officers and Centre Coordinators, who were instrumental in organising the event.

The participants were divided into six groups, consisting of students from Grades 6 to 8, Grades 9 to 12, differently-abled students, and teachers. A total of 41 exceptional projects were selected from ten centres across Navi Mumbai. These projects highlighted the participants’ creativity, innovation, and presentation skills, with a diverse range of topics covered. The projects were evaluated by a panel of judges, who carried out a transparent and thorough assessment process, selecting one outstanding project from each group.

The dignitaries who attended the exhibition took time to visit each display, interacting with students and teachers, and commending their efforts. The judges and officials praised the quality of the projects and the student’s ability to think critically and creatively.

The successful organisation of the exhibition can be attributed to the meticulous planning and coordination by Mrs Supriya Payare, Extension Officer and Coordinator for the Airoli Centre, along with the support of school principals, teachers, and non-teaching staff from the Airoli group of schools.
