During a field test for police recruitment at the SRPF Group-11 camp in Navi Mumbai's Balegaon Shilphata, one candidate died while another is in critical condition.

Akshay Milind Birhade (25), hailing from Ammalner in Jalgaon, succumbed to the ordeal, having collapsed during the running test. Despite immediate medical attention at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa, Akshay tragically passed away. Prem Sukhdev Thackeray (29) remains critically ill, alongside Amit Gaikwad (20), Pawan Shivaji Shinde (25), Abhishek Shete (24), Sumit Kishore Adatkar (23), and Sahil Kishore Lavan (19), all of whom are receiving intensive care.

The incident occurred during the ongoing recruitment for 344 armed police constable positions, where several candidates collapsed due to unknown causes during the rigorous physical test. Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of these distressing events.
