Online application process for 25% reserved admissions begins for 2025-26 Academic Year

top-news

The online application process for 25% reserved admissions under the Right to Education (RTE) Act 2009 for the 2025-26 academic year has officially commenced, offering a vital opportunity for children from disadvantaged and vulnerable groups to secure free and compulsory education in various schools across Navi Mumbai. The applications for admission are open from 14 January and will remain open until 27 January 2025.

As per the provisions of the RTE Act, 25% of seats in self-financed schools, non-aided schools, police welfare schools, and municipal schools are reserved for children from economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups. These reservations apply to students seeking admission to Class 1, providing them with equal access to quality education.

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has launched an online portal for parents to submit their applications for the 2025-26 academic year. The designated website for filing applications is https://student.maharashtra.gov.in/adm_portal. The NMMC has also published detailed guidelines on the RTE 25% Admission Portal to assist parents in completing the application process smoothly.

For parents experiencing difficulties or requiring assistance with the online application, a dedicated email support system has been set up at nmmcrte25@gmail.com. Additionally, the NMMC has appointed coordinators across various regions to provide support and resolve any issues that may arise.

The RTE Act 2009 aims to ensure that children from economically weaker sections have access to quality education, breaking barriers and promoting inclusivity in the education system. With the launch of the online process for the 2025-26 academic year, the NMMC is working to make the admission process transparent, efficient, and accessible for all.

Parents are urged to complete the application process before the deadline of 27 January 2025 to ensure their children's participation in the reserved admissions scheme.
