Over 6.4 lakh disabled voters registered for Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha Elections 2024

Maharashtra's Chief Election Officer's office has announced the registration of 6,41,425 disabled voters for the upcoming Vidhan Sabha General Election 2024. This total includes 3,84,069 male voters, 2,57,317 female voters, and 39 transgender voters.

Pune district leads with the highest number of registered disabled voters, totalling 88,937. This count comprises 48,626 male, 40,301 female, and 10 third-gender voters. Thane district follows with 38,149 disabled voters, broken down as 21,573 male, 16,573 female, and 3 transgender voters.

Gadchiroli has the fewest registered disabled voters in the state, with a total of 6,043, consisting of 3,710 male and 2,333 female voters.

Of the 39 transgender disabled voters statewide, Aurangabad district has the highest count at 12. Other notable registrations include Pune with 10, Nanded with 6, Thane with 3, and 2 each in Palghar and Jalgaon districts. Additionally, Mumbai Suburban, Latur, Solapur, and Sangli districts each have one transgender voter registered.

The election commission has taken strides to ensure the inclusivity of disabled voters, making arrangements to facilitate their voting process and uphold accessible election practices across Maharashtra.
