Gadkari Road's footpaths in Thane have become nearly unusable due to the accumulation of garbage, leaving residents frustrated and urging local authorities to take swift action. Overflowing bins and scattered trash have created not only an unpleasant sight but also significant health risks, particularly concerning children and the elderly.
The unreliable waste collection services in the area have exacerbated the situation, resulting in a foul odour and attracting pests. "The trash on the footpaths creates hurdles and makes it uncomfortable to walk. The smell is just terrible and unbearable," shared Smita Sharma, a resident of Gadkari Road. Another resident, Madhurima Dixit, expressed her frustration, saying, "I’m just tired of this everyday mess on the roads and footpaths. Strict action should be taken by the authorities."
Residents are calling for consistent waste management and stricter enforcement to restore cleanliness and ensure safe walking paths on Gadkari Road.
