Urges completion by March 31

MLA Prashant Thakur conducted a thorough inspection of the Nhava Sheva Water Supply Scheme Phase 3 on Friday, which is set to provide water to the citizens of the Panvel Municipal area for the next 20 years. Accompanied by Municipal Commissioner Mangesh Chitale, former House Leader Paresh Thakur, and water supply officials, Thakur reviewed the progress of the Vayaal to Bhokarpada pipeline and instructed the concerned officials to ensure the completion of all works under the scheme before March 31.

The Nhava Sheva Water Supply Scheme Phase 3 is a crucial project aimed at increasing water supply capacity in Panvel, with the overall water supply more than doubling from 100 MLD to 228 MLD. This increase will help address the growing water needs of Panvel’s residents and ensure a steady water supply in the region for the next two decades.

MLA Thakur has been actively pursuing the resolution of Panvel's water supply issues, and during the inspection, he emphasized the urgency of completing the pipeline works, particularly the Vayaal to Bhokarpada pipeline. He directed that all ongoing works under the scheme be completed within the stipulated time frame of March 31.

Along with MLA Thakur, Panvel Municipal Commissioner Mangesh Chitale, former House Leader Paresh Thakur, former corporator and BJP Panvel city president Anil Bhagat, water supply officer Vilas Chavan, MJP Chief Engineer Prashant Bhambre, Executive Engineer Vengurlekar, Deputy Engineer Vayadande, and representatives of JVPR were present during the inspection.
