New Panvel: Panvelcha Raja ‘Chintamani,’ one of the most anticipated Ganesh festivals in New Panvel, is attracting huge crowds this year. Celebrated from September 7th to 17th, the festival, now in its 14th year, is organized by Hari Om Samajik Mitra Mandal at Sector 4, New Panvel. The grand 30x40 feet mandap houses the revered 'Chintamani' idol, crafted in the likeness of Lord Vishnu’s avatar. Hundreds of devotees gather daily for darshan and aarti, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere.

As part of its social responsibility, the Mandal continues its tradition of offering free medical services to both devotees and local residents. On September 14th, a comprehensive health check-up camp will be held at the festival venue. This camp will provide free services such as ECGs, cholesterol and blood sugar tests, and eye check-ups. The initiative is supported by renowned institutions like Apollo Hospital, Sushrut Hospital, and Metropolis Path Lab.

Beyond religious devotion, the Mandal is playing an active role in supporting the community, especially the youth and elderly. A daily job fair is being organized during the ten-day festival, offering opportunities for job seekers. Additionally, the Mandal is using its platform to raise awareness on social issues, including sexual harassment and safety, particularly following a recent case in Kolkata. The Mandal’s efforts are aimed at fostering a safer environment for women.

On September 16th, the festival will feature a Satyanarayan Mahapuja and Mahaprasad distribution at the puja venue. Local orphans and the destitute are especially invited to partake in the Mahaprasad, ensuring that the spirit of community care extends to all.

Panvelcha Raja Chintamani continues to shine as a beacon of devotion, social service, and communal harmony in New Panvel.
