Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra on 5th October to launch several key initiatives in agriculture, infrastructure, and urban mobility.

His visit will span across Washim and Thane, where projects worth over Rs 56,000 crore will be inaugurated or have their foundation stones laid.

Starting his visit in Washim, the Prime Minister will perform Darshan at the Jagdamba Mata Temple in Poharadevi at around 11:15 a.m., and pay tribute at the Samadhis of Sant Sevalal Maharaj and Sant Ramrao Maharaj. Shortly after, he will inaugurate the Banjara Virasat Museum, which celebrates the cultural heritage of the Banjara community. This will be followed by the launch of various initiatives related to the agricultural and animal husbandry sectors, with a cumulative value of approximately Rs 23,300 crore.

A major highlight of the event will be the disbursement of the 18th instalment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi scheme, amounting to around Rs 20,000 crore, benefiting 9.4 crore farmers.

This release will bring the total funds distributed under the scheme to approximately Rs 3.45 lakh crore. Additionally, the Prime Minister will launch the 5th instalment of the NaMo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana, providing Rs 2,000 crore to the state’s farmers.

Furthering the government’s commitment to improving rural infrastructure, the Prime Minister will dedicate over 7,500 projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, valued at Rs 1,920 crore.

These projects include custom hiring centres, cold storage units, warehouses, and post-harvest management facilities. In addition, 9,200 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) with a combined turnover of around Rs 1,300 crore will also be dedicated to the nation.

As part of efforts to boost livestock management, the Prime Minister will introduce the Unified Genomic Chip for cattle and indigenous sex-sorted semen technology. These innovations are expected to reduce costs for farmers and enhance the quality of cattle through early identification of high-quality bulls. Five solar parks, with a total capacity of 19 MW, will also be dedicated under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana – 2.0. Beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana will also be honoured during the programme.

In Thane, the Prime Minister will shift his focus to infrastructure development, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of projects worth over Rs 32,800 crore.

One of the key developments will be the inauguration of the Aarey JVLR to BKC section of Mumbai Metro Line 3 Phase-1.

This section, which features 10 stations (9 underground), is part of a broader effort to enhance public transport between Mumbai city and its suburbs. The fully operational Metro Line 3 is expected to handle approximately 12 lakh passengers daily.

Further boosting urban mobility, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project, an ambitious 29-kilometre-long project with 22 stations, to be built at a cost of around Rs 12,200 crore. The project is expected to address the growing transportation needs of Thane, a major industrial and commercial hub.

In addition, the foundation stone for the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension, connecting Chheda Nagar to Anand Nagar in Thane, will be laid. The Rs 3,310 crore project aims to provide seamless connectivity from South Mumbai to Thane, further easing traffic congestion.

Another significant project is the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) initiative, with a focus on developing major arterial roads, bridges, flyovers, and integrated infrastructure.

The first phase of this project will be constructed at a cost of Rs 2,550 crore. Moreover, the foundation stone of the new Thane Municipal Corporation building, worth Rs 700 crore, will also be laid. This new administrative building will house the majority of the corporation's offices and offer improved services to citizens.
