PMC Chief and Cricket Legend Dilip Vengsarkar inspect Cricket Training Centre in New Panvel

In a significant stride towards nurturing cricket talent, Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC), under the guidance of Commissioner Mr. Ganesh Deshmukh, is set to establish an International Standard Cricket Training Centre near Adai Circle in New Panvel. Recently, Commissioner Mr. Ganesh Deshmukh and renowned international cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar visited the site to assess the ongoing developments.

The visit included a comprehensive review of the progress by City Engineer Sanjay Jagtap, Executive Engineer Sanjay Katekar, Deputy Engineer Sudhir Salukhe, and other members of the Construction Department. The center, located in Ward Committee-B, Ward No. 16 Block No. 28, Sector 11 New Panvel (East), aims to provide scientific cricket training to players from Panvel, Navi Mumbai, and Raigad district.

Currently, the construction of the ground and pavilion is underway, with expectations of completion in the coming months. The estimated cost of the project is around Rs. 8 crore, covering an area of 29.899 sq. I. (7.47 Acres).

The International Standard Cricket Training Centre is a collaborative effort with the involvement of cricket luminary Dilip Vengsarkar. The facility is poised to offer free training to a minimum of 100 students aged 10 to 19 annually, catering to the budding cricket enthusiasts in Panvel city and Navi Mumbai, as well as the wider Raigad district. This initiative holds great promise for the future cricketing talent emerging from the region.
