Panvel: PMC was honoured by Maharashtra Health Minister Prakash Abitkar for its performance under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) at a recent event held at Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium.
PMC became the first municipal body in Maharashtra to achieve 100% registration within the stipulated time under ABDM, marking a significant milestone in digital healthcare reform. This recognition was received under the guidance of Mangesh Chitale, PMC Commissioner, and the supervision of Dr Vaibhav Vidhate, Deputy Commissioner, and Dr Anand Gosavi, Chief Medical Officer.
ABDM aims to digitise India’s healthcare system by providing each citizen with a 14-digit ABHA ID (Ayushman Bharat Health Account), enabling easy access to personal health records and reducing the need for physical documents or repeat tests.
PMC successfully registered both government and private hospitals, along with official records of doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, well ahead of other civic bodies in the state. The effort was a coordinated initiative by the entire medical health department.
In recognition of this achievement, the state government presented PMC with a medal of honour, commending its leadership in advancing citizen-centric and transparent healthcare services through digital innovation.
