PMC removes 607 illegal political banners under its jurisdiction

Panvel: In a decisive move to maintain urban aesthetics and uphold regulations, Municipal Commissioner of Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC ) Mangesh Chitale has initiated action against unauthorized boards, flags, and arches within the municipal jurisdiction. Over the past two days, officials have successfully dismantled a total of 607 political banners, 142 flags, and 24 arches across the four wards of Kalamboli, Kamothe, Panvel, and Kharghar.

The operation, directed by Deputy Commissioner Ravikiran Ghodke and Assistant Commissioner Subodh Thanekar, involved ward officers and municipal staff systematically targeting unauthorized installations that violate municipal guidelines.

Commissioner Chitale emphasized the importance of adhering to municipal regulations, urging residents to seek prior permission before erecting any banners or structures. “It is crucial for maintaining the decorum and cleanliness of our city,” he stated.

The municipal corporation aims to ensure that public spaces remain free from clutter and unauthorized displays, reinforcing the message that community cooperation is essential for an orderly and aesthetically pleasing environment.
