Kharghar: In a significant environmental initiative, the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) is set to plant 9,000 saplings in Kharghar. Municipal Deputy Commissioner Vaibhav Vidhate highlighted the importance of tree planting and appealed to social organizations, environmentalists, and tree enthusiasts to actively participate in this crucial endeavor.

The tree planting campaign, which will also see 23,000 trees planted across the Panvel Municipal Corporation area, aims to enhance the green cover of areas under the municipal corporation limits. On this occasion, DMC Vidhate planted saplings along the road from Central Park in Kharghar to Murbi Gaon village. He emphasized the need for continued care and maintenance of the planted trees, urging everyone to plant at least one tree and ensure its growth.

Ward Officer Jitendra Madhavi, social worker Kirti Mehra, and other officers and staff from the Kharghar ward office were present during the event. Vidhate noted that Kharghar's open roads attract many residents for morning walks, making it essential for citizens to contribute to the greening of their surroundings.

He stressed that maintaining environmental balance requires dedicated care for tree planting and conservation. The initiative aims not only to beautify the city but also to foster a greater sense of responsibility towards environmental stewardship among residents.
