PMC collects over Rs341 crore in property tax

The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has collected Rs341 crore in property tax in a one-year period (April 2024 to March 4, 2025), indicative of the increasing compliance with property tax laws.
Over the past four days alone, more than Rs5.5 crore has been deposited into the municipal corporation’s treasury, with daily collections exceeding Rs1 crore between March 1 and March 4. Explaining the flurry of activity, PMC officials said increasing number of property owners are settling their dues before the March 31 deadline to avoid the two percent monthly penalty.
With a view to help the taxpayers, the municipal corporation has launched the ‘PMC TAX APP,’ which allows property owners to pay their taxes online and even request a name change on their property records.
Deputy Municipal Commissioner Swaroop Kharge, has urged citizens to take advantage of these digital services and clear their outstanding property taxes promptly. He also encouraged taxpayers to reach out to get in touch with PMC officials on the toll-free helpline 1800 5320340 for any queries related to property tax.
