PMC’s 2025-26 Budget Prioritises Development

The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has unveiled its development-focused budget of Rs. 3,873.86 crore for the financial year 2025-26, without any increase in taxes. Chief Accounts and Finance Officer Mangesh Gawade presented the budget to the PMC Commissioner and Administrator Mangesh Chitale during a meeting of the Administrative Standing Committee on February 25.
The budget prioritises dynamic administration and infrastructure development, emphasising revenue growth, healthcare enhancement, modern educational initiatives, sustainable water resource management, public participation in cleanliness, and environmental conservation.
The budget presentation was attended by Additional Commissioner Bharat Rathod, Deputy Commissioners Kailas Gawde, Dr. Vaibhav Vidhate, Prasenjit Karlekar, and Ravikiran Ghodke, along with senior municipal officers and department heads.

Infrastructure & Construction
- New Administrative Building – Rs.158 crores.
- Mayor’s Residence & Ward Offices – Rs.38 crores.
- Road Concreting & Asphalting – Rs.437 crores.
- Sports Facilities Development – Rs.57 crores.
- Theatre, Library & Nagarvachan Temple in Kharghar – Rs.14 crores.
- Mata Ramabai Ambedkar Bhavan & Punyashlok Rajmata Ahilyadevi Holkar Sabhagarh – Fund allocation included.
- Flood Control Embankment & Pumping Station along Gadhi River – Rs.17.50 crores.
- Retention Pond Desilting in Kalamboli – Rs.35 crores.
Solid Waste Management & Health Services
- Mega Sweeping Machines for Four Wards – To improve cleanliness under Swachh Bharat Mission.
- Dust Control Measures – Rs.11.38 crores.
- Waste-to-Energy Project (in collaboration with CIDCO) – Rs.10 crores.
- Solid Waste Collection, Transportation & Manpower – Rs.221 crores.
- Medical & Health Services – Rs.126 crores.
- 450-Bed Hirkani Mata & Bal Sangopan Kendra Hospital – Rs.17.50 crores
- Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHC) in Kalundre, Navin Panvel & Kharghar – Ongoing construction.
- 50-Bed Hospital in Kalamboli (Ward Committee B) – Rs.10 crores.

- Fire Department Budget – Rs.39 crores
