In a bid to educate young minds about crime prevention and digital safety, Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Vidyalaya, an NMMC-run school at Rabale, hosted an interactive session on Police Raising Day.

The event, organised by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, saw Police Inspector Sandesh Tambe addressing students on safeguarding themselves against modern crimes.

Inspector Tambe provided critical insights into how crimes are committed and discussed ways to prevent them, with a special focus on online scams, cybercrimes, and financial frauds such as bank account hacking. “Public cooperation significantly eases the work of the police, but sadly, this support is often lacking,” he said, expressing his concerns.

The session featured a series of informative visuals. In one photograph, students are seen engrossed as Inspector Tambe demonstrates examples of phishing attempts and fake online shopping platforms. A contrasting image captured the engaged audience participating in a Q&A session, reflecting their eagerness to learn and stay vigilant.

The event began with a warm welcome and introduction by teacher Dilip Nimbara. The programme’s coordination was deftly handled by Deepak Katre, while Amol Waghmare delivered the vote of thanks.

Headmaster Amol Khadsambale, Police Mitra Kunal Patil, and nearly 200 students attended the event. The initiative was lauded for equipping the younger generation with practical knowledge and fostering a sense of responsibility toward community safety.
