Uran: The construction work of the cremation ground within the Kegaon Village Panchayat area of Uran taluka has come under heavy public criticism due to its extremely poor quality. Residents are demanding that the ongoing work be halted immediately and that legal action be taken against the contractor responsible. Citizens have complained about the lack of proper planning and the use of substandard materials in the construction, raising serious concerns about the project's integrity.

During the construction of the cremation ground, issues with the columns have already surfaced, indicating potential structural problems. In response to these concerns, the Kegaon Gram Panchayat members conducted an inspection of the site. Following this inspection, the work was ordered to be stopped to ensure that it is carried out in a more organized and proper manner.

"The work of the cemetery has been stopped to ensure it is completed in an orderly manner. The Gram Panchayat members have inspected the site, and necessary instructions have been given to the contractor," stated Ram Mhatre, Village Development Officer of Kegaon Gram Panchayat.

The residents of Kegaon village are now awaiting further action, including legal measures against the contractor, to ensure that the cremation ground is built to a standard that meets the community's needs and safety requirements.
