Prime locations in Nerul now under CCTV surveillance

Navi Mumbai: In a major step towards enhancing security, the jurisdiction under the Belapur Vidhan Sabha, Nerul node, now has CCTV cameras installed at prime locations. The project has been funded through the MLA Fund of Manda Mhatre, who allotted Rs. 25 lakhs for the project.

As part of the ongoing project, CCTV cameras were inaugurated in Sector-10, Nerul. During the event, MLA Manda Mhatre emphasized that the entire city of Navi Mumbai is now equipped with CCTV cameras. These cameras have been installed not only in Sector-10 of Nerul Division but also at major traffic intersections and other key areas, enhancing the security of the entire city. She noted that the cameras are intended to capture every incident, big or small, which will aid in curbing crime.

The installation has been expedited, with cameras placed in most of the main chowks, all under the control of Nerul Police Station.

“These 16 cameras will help address issues such as molestation of women on the streets, theft, and other crimes,” said MLA Manda Mhatre.

Specific locations equipped with CCTV include Sant Savata Mali Chowk, Annasaheb Patil Udyan, Jai Bhavani Market, Shiv Sahyadri Co-op Housing Society Premises, Vrindavan Society, Ekta Apartment, Sahyog-Ekta Lane, near BJP Liaison Office, Arunodaya Apartment in Sector-10, Nerul, and 16 other key points like Shivshakti Apartment, Chhatrapati Co-op Credit Society, and NL1A-15 in Sector-10A.
