PRISMA 2025: A magnificent celebration of creativity and expression at Guru Nanak College

Mumbai: Guru Nanak College of Arts, Science, and Commerce hosted its highly anticipated media fest, Prisma 2025, on January 18, 2025. As part of the college’s annual inter-collegiate event, Zeal, Prisma 2025 transformed the Auditorium, Aura Hall, and Quadrangle into vibrant spaces of innovation and artistic expression. This year’s theme, “Euphoria – The Soul of Media,” perfectly captured the passion, joy, and emotional connection fostered by storytelling and media.
With participation from over 20 colleges across Mumbai and an audience of more than 1,000 attendees, including students, media professionals, and influencers, the day began on an auspicious note with a Shabad and lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by the felicitation of esteemed guests.
The inauguration featured a thought-provoking panel discussion on ‘Euphoria: Redefining the Mediascape in the Digital Era,’ showcasing an esteemed lineup of speakers: Dr. Sunder Rajdeep – Guest of Honour and Head of the Department of Communication and Journalism, University of Mumbai, Dr. P. J. Mathew Martin – Media Officer, IDC, AYJNISHD, Mr. N. Raghuraman – Columnist, Dainik Bhaskar; Motivational Speaker and Author, Ms. Rabiya Shaikh – Associate Creative Director, Lowe Lintas
The panelists shared their expertise, offering invaluable insights into the ever-evolving media landscape.
Prisma 2025 also featured a dynamic lineup of competitions judged by industry experts. Highlights included: photography competition – Judged by Prof. Sundar Rajdeep, reel screening – Evaluated by Joel Raj and Avdhesh Sahani, short films – Judged by Film Producer Daivata Chavan-Patil
Performance-based competitions in dance, singing, and rapping showcased exceptional talent, with renowned choreographers, artists, and singers such as Achint Shrivastav, Deepak Yadav, Chitranshu Srivastav, and Hitzone-Naved Khan serving as judges.
Prisma 2025 was brought to life by a dedicated team of over 100 student volunteers, ensuring the seamless execution of the event. Winners were awarded trophies, certificates, and special cash prizes, particularly in the Short Film Competition.
Dr. Pushpinder G. Bhatia, Principal, remarked, “The event is a perfect blend of academics and co-curricular activities. Media plays a crucial role in shaping civil society, and we inculcate ethicality and responsibility in our students.”
Prisma 2025 concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, celebrating the enthusiastic involvement of participants, panelists, judges, and attendees. The fest was a remarkable day filled with electrifying competitions, engaging performances, and networking opportunities, inspiring all to explore new dimensions of creativity and storytelling.
