Protest rally held in Uran City over Yashashree Shinde’s brutal murder

Uran: On Friday, July 26, 22-year-old Yashashree Shinde from Uran was brutally murdered, with Dawood Shaikh identified as the perpetrator. This horrific crime has created a tense atmosphere in Uran, leading to a protest rally held on Sunday, July 28.

Political activists from all parties and numerous women’s organizations participated, demanding that the accused be sentenced to death.

The protest began at the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Uran, proceeding through Ganpati Chowk, Rajpal Naka, Palvi Hospital, Uran Charphata, and returning to Bazaar Peth, Rajpal Naka, Gandhi Chowk, before finally converging at the Uran Tehsil-Police Station.

The crowd confronted police officials, seeking updates on the case. The accused, who has fled to the Maharashtra-Karnataka border, is being pursued by the police, who assured that he would be apprehended and punished within two days.

The enraged protesters demanded that Dawood Shaikh be given the death penalty immediately, urging authorities to find and execute the accused swiftly.

The police have travelled to Karnataka and identified the accused. They assured that the death penalty would be enforced. The police requested some time, estimating that it would take 24 hours for the accused to be brought from Karnataka. If there is no progress within two days, further action will be considered, with a decision to be made on Wednesday and a potential indefinite strike to follow if no resolution is achieved by Friday.

Chitra Wagh, the Raigad District President of the BJP Mahila Morcha, addressed the crowd, expressing her frustration that the criminal had fled to Karnataka. She informed the protesters that police teams are actively tracking his location and expressed confidence that he would be in police custody within two days.
