Qualifiers of 11th International Women's Tennis Championships-2024 gets underway at NMSA: NAVI MUMBAI Open ITF W50 Championship

The qualifying matches of the week long 11th International Women Tennis Championship (IWTC)  being organized by the Navi Mumbai Sports Association (NMSA) in association with Maharashtra State Lawn tennis Association (MSLTA) under the auspices of the ITF , AITA  got underway at the Ganesh Naik Tennis Complex in Vashi, Navi Mumbai early this week,

The inauguration ceremony of the 32 round of qualifying matches was of the tourney christened as ‘NAVI MUMBAI Open ITF W50 Championship’ graced by various dignitaries  including Dr. Sudhir Kadam, Medical Director MGM Hospital, Vashi; Adv. Anil Kaushik; Dr. Dilip K. Rane, Tournament Director;  Daraka Ellawala, Tournament Supervisor; and Ms. Leena Nageshwar, Chief of Umpires.

Poland’s Zuzanna Pawlikowska is the top seed for the qualifiers which has 17 Indian players in fray, while Great Britain’s’ Jizel Matos Sequeira Fernandes has been given the second ranking. Top eight qualifiers will make it to the main draw which will be headed by India’s top ranked player and Asian Games gold medallist Ankita Raina and Sahaja Yamalapalli respectively in the Women's Singles category.
