Criticize PMC’s negligence

Residents of Sector 35E in Kharghar have voiced strong complaints about the accumulation of debris and waste in their area, specifically in the 35E lanes. This issue has led to rainwater accumulation, further aggravating the residents' concerns. The community is particularly frustrated with the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) for its negligent attitude towards this growing problem.

In fear of mosquito breeding and the potential spread of monsoon-related diseases such as dengue and malaria, residents have lodged complaints with the civic authorities and various NGOs, urging them to take immediate action.

M.P. Borse, a resident of Elite Residency in Sector 35E, highlighted that the lane adjacent to the boundary wall of Proviso Complex is littered with debris dumped by the shops located within the complex. He noted that construction debris, mud, rubble, and household waste have been accumulating for the past month, with no intervention from the PMC to clear the mess. The onset of rain has worsened the situation, turning the lane into a contentious area for all residents.

Mr. Borse explained, “The shops at Proviso Complex are dumping debris following the construction of a borewell and shop renovations. The heap of rubble and construction waste is growing daily, along with other waste. We requested the cleaning staff and sweepers of the Panvel Municipal Corporation to clear the debris, but they refused, stating it is the responsibility of the debris collection department. Rainwater is now accumulating in this lane, causing unnecessary nuisance to the residents.”
