The Navi Mumbai Deputy Regional Transport Office (Dy. RTO) office, under the banner of a comprehensive road safety campaign, organised a cycle rally on February 4, 2024. The event aimed to raise awareness about road safety among citizens and promote eco-friendly commuting.

The rally commenced from the Vehicle Inspection Centre in Nerul and concluded at the Deputy Regional Transport Office, attracting a significant turnout from the citizens of Navi Mumbai. Hemangini Patil, Deputy Regional Transport Officer, and Gajanan Gawande, Assistant Dy. RTO, flagged off the rally.

During the rally, Hemangini Patil engaged with the public, emphasising the paramount importance of road safety. The event also witnessed the presence and support of Motor Vehicle Inspector Ashish Dargode, Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector Ganesh Lavhate, Suraj Ghorpade, Akshay Jadhav, Mayur Jadhav, and their team. Various bicycle associations from Navi Mumbai collaborated with the transport office for the successful execution of the rally.

Addressing the participants, the dignitaries highlighted the significance of saving fuel, preventing accidents, and promoting both social and physical health through cycling. Emphasizing their commitment to reducing accidents throughout the year, the Navi Mumbai Transport Office has undertaken a range of initiatives, contributing to a notable decrease in accidents within the city.

The transport office's dedication to improving road safety extends beyond rallies, with plans for community engagement through square meetings, painting initiatives, and health camps for students and the general public in Navi Mumbai. This holistic approach is expected to yield positive results in the ongoing effort to enhance safety on the city's roads.
As a token of appreciation, certificates, medals of honour, and T-shirts bearing road safety messages were distributed to the participants, further encouraging their commitment to responsible and safe commuting practices.
